By accessing, installing, and using the UnplugMe Chrome extension ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to any part of these Terms, you may not use the Service.
These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and UnplugMe ("we," "us," "our," or "Company") regarding your use of the Service and supersede all prior negotiations, representations, and agreements.
2. Service Description
UnplugMe is a personal data portability tool, delivered as a Chrome extension, that helps you archive the saved, liked, and favorited content from your own accounts on supported social media platforms (currently Instagram and TikTok, with Facebook and Twitter/X support in development). The Service provides the following functionality:
- Parsing of official platform data exports (the ZIP files each platform provides via its "Download Your Information" feature)
- Local processing and organization of your own saved, liked, and favorited content references
- Downloading of media you already have access to, using your own authenticated browser session
- Support for metadata preservation where available
3. Pricing & Payment
Free Tier
The Service offers a free tier allowing users to download up to 50 posts without payment. The free tier includes full functionality for the first 50 downloads.
Paid Tier
After exhausting your free 50 downloads, continued access requires a one-time payment of $23 USD. This payment grants unlimited downloads for the duration of your account.
Payment Processing
All payments are processed through Stripe, our payment processor. By providing payment information, you authorize Stripe to charge your payment method. We do not store your payment details directly; all transactions are handled securely by Stripe in accordance with their privacy and security practices.
Pricing Changes
We reserve the right to change our pricing structure with 30 days' notice. Existing paid subscribers will not be affected by pricing changes for their current subscription.
4. User Responsibilities
Your Platform Accounts
You represent and warrant that:
- You own or have authorized access to the social media account(s) whose data you process with UnplugMe
- You are at least 13 years old (or the age of digital consent in your jurisdiction)
- Your use of the Service complies with the Terms of Service of each platform whose data you archive, as well as applicable laws
- You will not use UnplugMe to access, download, or use content you do not have rights to
Legal Use
You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. Specifically, you will not:
- Violate any intellectual property rights of third parties
- Download content belonging to other users without their consent
- Use downloaded content for commercial purposes without appropriate permissions
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service
- Circumvent any security or authentication measures
- Interfere with the operation of the Service
- Harass, defame, or threaten other users
Content Responsibility
You are solely responsible for the content you download and how you use it. You assume all liability for your use of downloaded content and compliance with the intellectual property rights of content creators.
5. Intellectual Property
UnplugMe Intellectual Property
The UnplugMe Service, including all software, code, design, documentation, and materials ("UnplugMe IP"), is owned by UnplugMe and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for personal purposes only.
Your Content
You retain all rights to content you create and archive. Content archived from supported social media platforms remains the intellectual property of the content creators who posted it. UnplugMe does not claim ownership of any archived content.
Third Party Content
All third-party platform content (images, videos, captions, etc.) belongs to the users who created or shared that content. Archiving content does not transfer ownership or grant you rights to use it beyond personal purposes.
6. Disclaimer of Warranties
We disclaim all express and implied warranties, including but not limited to:
- Warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose
- Warranties of title, non-infringement, or quiet enjoyment
- Warranties that the Service is error-free, secure, or uninterrupted
- Warranties that all content will be successfully downloaded
Download Success Not Guaranteed
We make no guarantees regarding:
- The ability to download all of your saved or liked content
- The quality or format of downloaded files
- Preservation of all metadata or captions
- Availability of downloads if any supported platform changes their data export, API, or content policies
Some content may be unavailable due to privacy settings, account changes, content deletions, or changes to a platform's data export structure or terms.
No Support Guarantee
While we strive to maintain the Service, we provide support on a best-effort basis and make no guarantees regarding response times or issue resolution.
7. Limitation of Liability
This applies regardless of the cause of action or theory of liability, including negligence, strict liability, or any other legal theory.
Capped Liability
Our total liability for any claim arising out of or related to the Service is limited to the amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months preceding the claim. If you have not made a payment, our liability is limited to $1.
Excluded Damages
We are not liable for:
- Loss of data, content, or access to your accounts
- Business interruption or lost profits
- Damage to your devices or system
- Issues arising from your non-compliance with these Terms or applicable laws
- Third party actions or content
8. Refund Policy
Digital Product
UnplugMe is a digital product. Because the Service is immediately accessible upon payment and can be used to download content, we generally do not offer refunds for standard purchases.
Refund Requests
Refund requests are evaluated on a case-by-case basis and may be granted at our sole discretion if:
- A technical error prevented the Service from functioning immediately after purchase
- Your payment was processed in error or duplicated
- You had a legitimate issue with the Service within 7 days of purchase that we could not resolve

No Refund for Downloaded Content
Once you have used the Service to download content, refunds will not be granted for change of mind or dissatisfaction with downloaded content.
9. Third Party Services
Supported Social Media Platforms
The Service depends on the data export features and public infrastructure of supported platforms (currently Instagram, TikTok, with Facebook and Twitter/X in development). We are not responsible for:
- Changes to any platform's Terms of Service, data export format, or functionality
- A platform blocking, limiting, or restricting access to the Service
- Changes to a platform's policies regarding third-party or user-authorized tools
- Content removed, hidden, or restricted by a platform
- Service interruptions due to platform outages, API changes, or policy updates
Stripe Payment Processing
Payments are processed by Stripe. By making a payment, you agree to Stripe's terms of service. We are not responsible for payment processing errors, account holds, or disputes processed by Stripe. Contact Stripe directly for payment-related issues.
Chrome Web Store
The Service is distributed through the Chrome Web Store. Your use of the Chrome Web Store and any associated services is governed by Google's terms. We are not responsible for removal of the extension from the Chrome Web Store or any actions taken by Google.
No Endorsement
UnplugMe is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or associated with Instagram, Meta Platforms, Inc., TikTok, ByteDance Ltd., X Corp., Twitter, Facebook, Google, or Stripe. All platform names and trademarks are the property of their respective owners.
10. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting to this page. Your continued use of the Service following changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
For material changes, we will provide notice through:

- Notification within the Service (when applicable)
- Email notification (if you have provided your email)
If you do not agree to modified Terms, your sole remedy is to discontinue using the Service.
11. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
